A former City of Mauldin employee was arrested by SLED agents on Monday, August 27, 2007, at approximately 10:00 a.m. He was charged with Embezzlement of Public Funds with a Value Less than $5,000. The former employee is identified as Robert William Singletary, 65, of 838 Ballenger Road, Gray Court, South Carolina. He was booked at the Greenville County Detention Center. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by SLED at the request of the City of Mauldin. The case will be prosecuted by the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
